Jakob - Solace (2006)
I’m just reading a great, totally self-depreciating and honest book about Steven Wilson’s perceived failings as a rock star. Ok, it’s agreed, he’s no rock star but he’s a fantastic musician, producer, band leader (of several ensembles) and a complete music nerd.

Tame Impala - Lonerism (2012)
If this record wasn’t so awash with psychedelic goo, it could be a lost Beatles record. The prevalence of ultra-hooky pop hooks is ridiculous.

Nightmares On Wax - In A Space Outta Sight (2006)
Bulging to the brim full of bangers, this post-rave/downtempo collection requires little listening investment. The fact that it slaps you around the ears and envelopes you with warm syrupy beats and rhythms is enough.
